James Houston – Big Ideas (don’t get any)

October 28, 2008

I found this video months ago and completely fell in love with the precision involved with it. It’s a non-entered entry into Radiohead’s Nude Remix contest they held several months ago. I feel that this version is more haunting than the original version and both the lo-fi equipment and color warmth+”graininess” appeal to my sense of aesthetic.

Eva Green [via nytimes.com]

Eva Green whom I had no idea was French. I'm sure I'm not the first person to be mildly surprised by this.

The New York Times published quite an alluring photo spread called French New Wave profiling the upcoming group of artists coming out of france right now. The photography is amazing, and the subjects captivating.

Kyra Phillips Is So Two Years Ago.

"Free duds, and free trips for the kids. Kind of makes me wish I was a Maverick too."

Rachel Maddow, MSNBC’s new prime time darling and my new news media crush, reports on Sarah Palin’s new gear. Sound superficial? Not when it cost the the RNC $150K. It would have been so much easier if they had picked someone coastal, they already own professional power duds. Palin also reportedly cooked some books in order to bring her kids along (uninvited) on official trips

The best line of the segment:

“Free duds, and free trips for the kids. Kind of makes me want to be a Maverick too.”
followed by a saucy little head tilt.
